The Active Directory Migration Tool (ADMT) is central to implementing a domain migration. ADMT requires a SQL Server installation, which can be SQL Server Express or an existing SQL Server in the organization.
The ADMT tool has several wizards to assist in migration, depending on the type of object to be migrated. As discussed earlier, domain migrations come in two forms: interforest for objects moving between domains in two separate forests, and intraforest for objects moving between domains within a forest.
Table 4-6 describes the general steps for implementing an interforest migration.
