Forest restructuring involves moving a domain within a forest. Any domain within a forest can be moved, with the exception of the forest root domain. You use the rendom tool to restructure a forest. First, you generate a Domainlist.xml file with rendom /list, edit the file, run rendom /upload to send it to the servers, run rendom /prepare to prepare the servers, and finally use rendom /execute to implement the change.
A domain migration is sometimes also considered a forest restructure, specifically an intraforest migration. Table 4-7 describes how to perform an intraforest migration.
