Internet Storage Name Server (iSNS) is a client-server technology that enables discovery, management, and configuration of storage targets such as iSCSI and Fibre Channel. You can add the Microsoft iSNS Server service feature through the Add Roles and Features wizard in Windows Server 2012. Once installed, the service configuration is found within the iSNS Server menu item under the Tools menu.
For iSNS clients to discover the iSCSI targets available, you need to add the iSNS server to the iSCSI Initiator in Windows Server 2012. You do so through the iSCSI Initiator administrative tool, specifically on the Discovery tab shown in Figure 1-33.
